Initial onsite of a virus

One of the biggest questions I get from friends, family and clients is what to do when you first have symptoms of a virus? I have been fighting nasty viruses off for years, naturally. I know we have all been “thrown through the ringer” lately, but have no fear, because God designed our bodies efficiently with help. Before the world had fallen and sickness entered, our bodies were whole. Today, with sickness everywhere and with our processed western diets, our bodies need some extra help!

What have I been doing to help?

  1. I drop 3% hydrogen peroxide in my ears to clean them. Viruses enter through my ears, nose, mouth and eyes. It feels strange (it might even make you giggle from the tingling), but when I feel something in my head or throat, I do this and it helps tremendously.

  2. I place garlic on my feet overnight with socks on. Yes, it stinks but garlic is a natural antibiotic for the entire body. It is antiviral, antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-cancerous and has many more properties that it possesses. Garlic should be everyone's best friend! There are many different ways you can use garlic to fight off foreign invaders. Garlic pulls out toxins. It is incredibly medicinal and has shown how powerful it is for our bodies in many studies. I add some sliced/crushed onions when I am really fighting something off.

  3. Ginger tea. Mountain Rose Herbs has fantastic, high quality herbal teas. You can make it from scratch as well. I place ginger, cinnamon, lemon and garlic into tea. Add a little honey to tase and for the anti-viral affect, and you are golden.

  4. Take those supplements. Vitamins A, B, C, D, E, Zinc with Quercetin will help. If it is a virus, NAC will help with the phlegm and getting your body to get the correct dose of Glutathione. Fun fact, Glutathione aids your body in repair. It’s necessary for recovery so NAC helps your body produce this. It is in our Ezer SICK kit for a reason. Selenium and L-Arginine are important too for some extra support. Earthley’s Immune Aid Vitamin C Powder is a great pill alternative. I use Vitamin C powder for my children. I place it in the herbal tea that I make for them every day. They love it! They are always asking when it is tea time. Earthley also has a good vitamin D cream you can use for the whole family. You can see our supplements page when we launch for kits we have placed together for immune boosting, when you are sick, children and pregnant and nursing mothers. We hope that it’s an easier way to shop in one place instead of following all of the links. Please stay tuned for when we launch our kits in early 2022.

  5. Take those herbals! Herbs are truly incredible. It is how my children were treated for Lyme disease. I saw the incredible effects on my own family before I started going to school and sharing with others. I have mastered quite a few herbs and continue to master more as time goes on. It’s incredible how many different properties each herb possesses. We work with some amazing companies that have mastered the art of making herbals. The ones that are in our kit are effective, high quality and medicinal. Mountain Rose Herbs, Five Flavor Herbs, and Earthley are definitely on the top of my list. For the average adult, Mountain Rose Herbs have a few that I can recommend for respiratory viruses. Chest Care, Echinacea and Oregon Grape Plus, lung care, and their immune care tincture are all great options. For children, their Elderberry Syrup is great. Earthley’s Vitamin D cream is a great option for children and adults who want a healthy alternative to pills. If you haven’t tried Fire Cider yet, I urge you to. Mountain Rose Herbs have two different options. The Turmeric one will help with the body’s inflammatory response in sickness. It has a kick, but it is very effective in treating sickness because it is a combination of Apple Cider Vinegar and herbs.

  6. Detox bath. This is probably one of my favorites. There is healing in water. Of course there is because God created it. You can place some epsom salts into a bath with some essential oils ( lavender Frankincense, Eucalyptus, and Chamomile are great for baths). Soak for at least 20 minutes. This helps pull toxins out of your body. You can also do just a foot bath for effects.

  7. EAT WHOLE foods. We have horrible diets. It does not support our immune system. It isn’t that our immune system is awful on its own. We just don’t nourish it. To reach complete wholeness takes work. Eat organic (free from chemicals), non GMO, raw fruits and veggies and clean meat.

  8. GET SUNSHINE. I love the sun. I am one of those people that is so affected by the sun. Earthly has a good sunshield if you must wear sunscreen, but your skin needs to absorb the sun in order to make Vitamin D. Vitamin D has gotten a lot of attention lately for good reason. It is essential to a healthy immune system. Go outside, take a walk, watch your kids play, take in the sunset or sunrise. It is healing just being outside. Earthley does have a good Vitamin D cream for some extra vitamin D. It’s an easy option for children and pregnant/nursing women to get some extra vitamin D.

  9. Take deep breaths. We need oxygen to survive. Studies show that taking deep breaths doesn’t just help with stress, it can help prevent pneumonia from setting in. I have spent a lot of time in the last year breathing with people as they fight it getting into their chest. This is something we should all practice with viral infections.

  10. Steam inhalation with essential oils. Mountain Rose Herbs is one of my favorite companies. They have pure, organic oils. Thyme, Eucalyptus, tea tree oil, lavender and bergamot are awesome oils to use. Please use high quality organic oils. Place a pot on the stove with water, get to a steam, place a towel over your head and place a few drops of an oil or combination of oils. Take slow, deep breaths in through the nose and breathe out through your mouth. You can do this for 5-10 minutes throughout the day until you feel better.

  11. Apple Cider Vinegar. As I mentioned above, Fire Cider is a great way to kick the sickness to the curb. This stuff is awesome! It does its job and I love how we are working with a company who adds quality herbs into the mix for extra benefits. We will have Fire Cider in our wellness kits in early 2022.

  12. This should be number one (it is for me) but pray. Taking time to be with the Lord and focusing on how good he is bring healing to the bones. It’s scriptural and it’s part of what I do. This is a ministry. I love people and I love the Lord with all my heart. It is the whole reason I got into this field. There was such a need and the Lord was paving the way. If you know who Jesus is, let him carry you. If you don’t, I’d love to talk to you about him and why he is so important in my life. If not, I can still walk with you and coach you on wellness. I just can’t withhold something so precious to me.

  13. WATER. Water is essential for life. Clean water is so important. We have an Alkaline water pitcher because too much acid has caused problems for all of our bodies. Make sure it is clean and make sure you drink plenty when you are sick. In addition, there are some great SUGAR FREE electrolytes that are full of vitamins you can takes once a day as well.

  14. CUT OUT SUGAR. This is so important. Sugar and processed foods are awful for us. It works against your immune system so if you want to beat this fast, cut it out.

  15. 15. Herbal Teas. I love Mountain Rose Herbs teas. They have so many amazing combinations, with an explanation of each one. Loose leaf tea is the best because it is in its natural state without bleached bags. You can get a cheap tea infuser to place the loose leaf tea into. Drink up multiple times a day and get a variety to hit it from every direction. I drink herbal teas daily.

  16. Only take good quality supplements. I only use supplement companies and specific supplements that have been shown to make a difference. I do not ever suggest going to big boxed stores! Those have been caught cheating on the amount that is in there and have been proven to be low quality. You get what you pay for and you cannot afford to skimp on your health. •
